How the success fee works
The recovery fee applies only to dollars actually recovered and confirmed in Stripe — never to findings, attempts, or cases you resolve yourself. It is the entire business model: if nothing recovers, nothing bills.
The tier split
20% of the first $50,000 recovered in a billing period, then 15% of everything above that. The split resets per period; there is no cumulative threshold gamesmanship.
Worked examples
$50,000 recovered → fee $10,000, you keep $40,000. $120,000 recovered → $10,000 on the first tier plus $10,500 on the remainder = $20,500 fee, you keep $99,500. $8,000 recovered → $1,600 fee, you keep $6,400.
Where confirmed totals come from
Stripe-confirmed reversal and fee-refund events tied to specific findings, visible line-by-line in the append-only audit trail. Recovery-fee invoices reference the month, the count and the confirmed total — your finance team can verify every dollar against Stripe directly.
What never incurs the fee
Findings you resolve independently, declined recoveries, unrecoverable write-offs, monitoring itself. The fee tracks executed recoveries and nothing else.
Common questions
Fees on cases we handle ourselves?
Never. Self-resolved findings cost nothing; the fee tracks recoveries FeeGuard executed.
